Republic Day is celebrated with great joy and gaiety in India on 26th January every year. This year as well, President Pratibha Patil will be hoisting the flag at the Red Fort. There is high security everywhere on this day.
Republic Day is indeed a golden day for our nation that marks the adoption of our Constitution. On 26th January 1950, India became republic and from then on, this day is taken to be a national holiday in India.
